OK everyone, we need to take a trip back to grade 8 science class. (And all of you guitar players who knew you would be rock stars and never need science, here is what you needed to know).
When performing an experiment you have to restrict the variables. That means if you are say building amplifiers and putting different speakers in them, and you wanted to say, show the different mid ranges of two different kinds of speakers, you should use the SAME guitar and play the SAME lick.
That's it. That's all you need to know. If you need a template, please refer to what these fellas have done (I can't say anything about the playing, but at least they paid attention in science):

And as a side note, it's probably a good idea to put your best foot forward when it comes to trying to sell stuff. I know it's kind to let your neighbors kid play on your sound clips or an ego boost to let your younger brother jam around on your 2500$ hand-wired amp, but it doesn't do much for the consumer.
